Job description

As Manager Operations Support you will be responsible for the Laboratory Support Department within the Rotterdam Operations Business Unit (12 fte), primarily that of Cell and Virus Production and Training. This position however will also manage the realization of contracted technology transfers to partner laboratories together with the Technology Transfer Project Coordinator in NL inclusive of organizing the training of partner laboratories technicians and new technicians within Cerba Research Netherlands.
You will ensuring an efficient, well-organized, and safe work environment and contribute to the continuous improvement of cell production processes and ensure that operational goals and sponsor contracts are met.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the team – Manage and coach the Cell & Virus Production team, ensuring optimal performance, training, and professional growth.
  • Optimize production processes – Oversee cell line optimization and maximize the use of resources, equipment, and personnel.
  • Drive operational excellence – Ensure efficient task division, workflow improvements, and seamless technology transfer.
  • Achieve milestones – Meet sponsor-contracted targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Foster collaboration – Encourage creative problem-solving, cross-functional teamwork, and continuous process improvements.
  • Ensure a safe work environment – Uphold HSE policies, identify risks, and implement measures to protect team health and safety.

Requirements

As a people manager you have good managerial skills. You identify and address the developmental needs and skills of your employees. You oversee budgets and operations to ensure that daily functions are executed smoothly, optimizing productivity and performance across all laboratory activities. You have good communication skills. You excel at juggling multiple tasks at once.

Required education and experience:
• Bsc/Msc/PhD related to cell culture production (and virus production)
• Working experience in the required Technical field preferably in operational teams in a lab environment
• Experience in a management role
• Fluent in English, Dutch is nice to have
